Dual Enrollment
Dual Enrollment allows high school juniors and seniors in good standing, with strong grades and attendance, to take college courses while still enrolled in high school. Dual Enrollment Programs are available in two different forms: through select LHS courses that partner with local colleges, and through on-campus courses available through partnerships with local colleges. Students are welcome to enroll in these LHS courses or to apply to on-campus programs, but should notify their counselor that they do. Both the LHS and on-campus options are usually entry-level courses that college freshmen take. They are often transferable to other colleges, allowing students a start towards earning college credits.
Please note that Dual Enrollment is an opportunity for additional academic challenge and rigor. It's not for everyone! Also be advised that not all colleges and universities accept Dual Enrollment credits, and this should be discussed and researched prior to paying for courses.

LHS Course & Lackawanna Dual Enrollment
Lakeland partners with Lackawanna College to offer Dual Enrollment credit through approved high school courses. Any student can enroll in these courses, as long as they meet any pre-requisite that exists. Enrollment in a course does not automatically mean that the student will receive college credit. The family must pay a required amount by a certain date, and the student must attain a minimum grade to earn the credit. Details vary from year to year. On-Campus Dual Enrollment
Lakeland partners with multiple colleges and universities so that our students can earn college credits while still in high school. Those partnerships include the University of Scranton, Penn State Scranton, Marywood University, Lackawanna College, and Johnson College.
