Dual Enrollment
Dual Enrollment programs allows high school juniors and seniors to take college courses while still enrolled in a traditional high school program. Dual Enrollment Programs are available in two different forms: through select LHS courses that partner with local colleges OR through on-campus courses available through partnerships with local colleges.
Students are welcome to enroll in these LHS courses or to apply to on-campus programs, but should notify their counselor that they do. Both the LHS and on-campus options are usually freshman level courses, which are transferable to other colleges allowing students a to start towards their college career.
Dual Enrollment is an opportunity for additional academic challenge and rigor, but please be advised that it is not for everyone. Not all schools accept Dual Enrollment credit, and this should be discussed and researched prior to paying for courses.

LHS Course Offerings
Lakeland partners with several local universities to offer Dual Enrollment credit through some high school courses. Any student can enroll in these courses as long as they meet any pre-requisite that exists. Enrollment in a course does not automatically mean that the student will receive college credit. The family must pay a required amount by a certain date, and the student must attain a certain grade to earn credit. This date and the grade can change from year to year, and students enrolled in the courses will be notified of these things throughout the school year.

Local Campus Opportunities
Students who participate in on-campus Dual Enrollment programs may not do so unless approved by their School Counselor. The Campus Based Programs LHS Handbook details requirements that must be met in order to enroll. Please review all information below thoroughly before applying. Any student can apply for a Dual Enrollment course, but not all students will be approved to actually take the courses.
